Summer Rece at The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp





The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp, has been a signature program of the JCC movement in Toronto for over 25 years.  The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp, Toronto’s largest Jewish Day Camp, offers both educational and recreational activities for children between the ages 12 months to 15 years in multiple locations.  We are currently looking for TWO REGISTERED ECE`S to lead our camp program for 2.5 to 4 year olds at the Schwartz/Reisman Centre and facilitate safe and wonderful camp experience on our wonderful site in Vaughan:

Job Responsibilities

  1. Interaction with Children
  1. Get to know every camper well and respond to their individual needs
  2. Work to assure a quality day camp experience for every camper
  3. Be able to encourage, support, and set limits for each camper
  4. Be aware and effectively address the group and social dynamics of the campers
  1. Basic Care
  1. Be safety conscious at all times
  2. Make sure that every camper’s basic needs are met
  3. Be aware of the campers physical and emotional health
  4. Help children keep good hygiene
  5. Change the diapers of infants and toddlers
  6. Supervise snacks and lunch, make sure the campers are well hydrated
  1. Participation and Planning of Programs/CIPs
  1. Actively and enthusiastically participate and facilitate campers in all specialties and camp programming
  2. With co-counselors, develop and implement at least 2-3 age appropriate CIPs per week
  3. Participate as a member of The Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp Staff team in any special programs that may occur outside of the camp day
  1. Communication
  1. Keep lines of communication open and positive throughout the summer with co-staff and unit head
  2. Complete parent phone calls before each new session as assigned and delegated by unit head
  3. Inform unit head immediately of any concerns with campers so that proper action can be taken
