A Prosserman JCC FamilyPosted on Feb 22, 2013 1:10pm
The Bathurst JCC was an important part of my life growing up. My friends and neighbours were all members of this vibrant community centre, and it quickly became a place where we would connect, catch up and even call a second home. Now married and a parent, I continue to be an active member of the Prosserman JCC, and a regular participant in programs that cater to my young family.
Over the last several years, I have enrolled in mom-and-tot programs, and my older son, Simon, also attended the K’tanim program last summer at the Jack and Pat Kay Centre Camp. He absolutely loved it, and even now still talks about it. He’s so excited to be going back this summer. I credit the outstanding camp counsellors for creating such a fun and unforgettable Jewish camp experience for my 3 year old.
The Prosserman JCC also distinguishes itself by incorporating Jewish values into all of its programs. This is something very important to my family. We love that our kids learn about the holidays, participate in weekly Shabbat celebrations and bring this knowledge of these customs and traditions home with them.
My husband and I are also very active at the JCC. We love to use the health and fitness facilities at the Prosserman JCC, which is a fabulous free benefit that we receive since are kids are enrolled in the Daycare and Preschool program. For me, the Prosserman JCC is a place that gets families together. No doubt it will continue to play an important role in my life as well as my family’s.
