To honour the immense contributions of the Jewish community throughout Ontario, May has been proclaimed as Jewish Heritage Month across the province.
With over 200,000 Jews, Ontario has the largest Jewish population in Canada. The act which was passed in Fall 2013 procilaims:
“Jewish Heritage Month is an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about the inspirational role that Jewish Canadians have played, and continue to play, in communities across Ontario,”.
The Prosserman JCC is proud that Ontario has recognized not just individuals of the Jewish community but the heritage as a whole and its positive contribution in building this province.
