The Bridge of HopePosted on Mar 12, 2013 2:41pm
The Prosserman JCC hopes you will take a chance to walk down the newly installed Bridge of Hope exhibition that connects us to Lipa Green. This project honours the legacies of the Mutual Benefit Societies which were formed by groups of Jews, often from the same town or region to help the greater Jewish community.
The Bridge of Hope honours the legacy of these societies, and by telling their stories, serves as an introduction for future generations to the history of the Jewish people in Toronto. There will also be a touch-screen computer kiosk that goes into more detail (with a photo tagging interactive) installed after Passover.
Thanks to Janice Benetar for all her guidance on the project and to the archivists and interns of the OJA.
